One Russian ski jumper tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday at the Four Bridges Tour. Before today’s qualification in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, three members of the Russian team had to quarantine with him, including another unnamed jumper, who were in close contact with the infected person.

“We are in constant contact with the health office in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and together we have reached this decision,” said Martin Fleckenstein, head of the medical committee of the organizing committee of the second race of the Tour.

The coronavirus infection already marked the inaugural Tour of Oberstdorf, before which Klemens Muraňka had a positive test.

Polish jumpers can start the Tour after negative tests for covid-19

Due to him, the whole Polish team was originally eliminated from the race, but after Muraňka had a negative result of the repeated test, the charges of the Czech coach Michal Doležal were allowed to start. Former two-time Tour winner Kamil Stoch took second place.
