The club had already been hit economically. In 2018, the basketball team was crowned champion of El Metro 2018 and obtained promotion for the Uruguayan League 2019-2020, but for budgetary reasons it declined to play that tournament. It fell to the third category.

Bohemios was federated for years in various sports, although his signature discipline was always basketball, in which he was federal champion in 1963, 1981, 1983, 1984 and 1987. In the pandemic, the clubs had to remain closed from March to May, when they resumed outdoor activities and progressively reactivated until the pools were even reopened. However, on December 1, the government again decreed the closure of the institutions, a measure it rejected on December 16.
