A whimsical and explosive character in the NBA of the 1980s and 1990s, the late Manute Bol leaves behind many mythical urban stories and legends. One of them, concerning his anatomy, was revealed by a former teammate …

With 2m31 under the gauge, Manute Bol is one of the tallest players to have played in the NBA, if not imposing. Landed from his native Sudan where he boasted of having killed a lion without a rifle, the gigantic pivot was above all talked about for his performances on the ground – we think for example of a crazy stats line successful in 1986, as well as his rare 3-point shoot for a player of his size at the time.

However, most of his myth can be found in the stories around him. No one ever knew the official age of the colossus, so much so that totally crazy rumors about his real age when he was in the NBA have constantly surfaced. And that’s not all, since his former teammate Jayson Williams has decided to put on a layer … more intimate.

Williams, who was subsequently an All-Star, shared the locker room with Bol Bol’s father in the early 90s on the Philadelphia side. The opportunity for him to be captivated by the hellish size of his teammate’s private parts, as he unfiltered in a podcast for VICE Sports:

Peace to his soul, Manute is gone now (he died in 2010, note), but the guy had a b *** as long as a leap year. It was the size of a tee-ball bat.

T-ball is the American sport that can be considered the “little brother” of baseball. The bats generally measure there … between 60 and 65 centimeters.

To our delight (or not), Williams didn’t stop there, ending his story with a tasty anecdote:

He always put his clothes last in the locker room, so when he got out of the shower, he just put on socks, and that was it. He walked naked in the locker room inquiring about Heinekens. Once, as a journalist, he couldn’t believe Manute’s family jewels. Manute took his microphone from him and slapped him on the head with it telling him to stop staring at him like that!

This time, we can definitely say it: Manute Bol was a giant, in every sense of the word. 30 years after his stint in the Philadelphia locker room, the anecdote is still gaining ground …
