El last Saturday, at the Municipal Sports Center, students from the Municipal Judo School took their exam; some changed their belt color and others became instructors and teachers of the discipline.
Pablo Villarruel, professor at the Municipal School of Judo, reported that the examining table was made up of members of the Argentine Judo Confederation and the Mendoza Judo Federation: “Luxury, something that was previously unthinkable, having a teacher like Mena , 7th dan, a person recognized nationally and internationally, it is a great joy, it is finishing a year very well ”.
According to Villarruel, 6 were the students aspiring to 1st Dan (black belt), “the idea is to continue growing, we have human material, they are boys who have been practicing between 9 and 14 years; the black belt is the beginning of everything; a lot of joy mixed with nervousness, we can’t help it, it’s a very big step for the school ”.
Villarruel recalled that the Municipal Judo School has 2 students who make up the Argentine Judo Team and a Champion of the Evita 2019 National Games, “all this shows the new head that the Mendoza Judo Federation has, we are honored to have its president here”.
For his part, Eduardo Mena, director of Teachings and Examinations of the National Judo Federation, stated how his beginnings were in this discipline: “I started at the Sports Directorate of the National University of Cuyo, in an old place in the city of Mendoza, from that moment until now that I belong to the same university ”. In addition, he highlighted the work being carried out by the Malargüe Municipal Judo School with Pablo Villarruel at the helm: “Here there is a great will and also great participation of the authorities towards judo; Unesco has considered that judo is the best training sport for children because it educates and makes them do complete physical exercise as well as helps sociability ”.
