Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al Nahjan, an Emirati businessman and cousin of the Crown Prince, signed a contract on Monday evening to invest three hundred million shekels over the next ten years. That corresponds to 75 million euros, not a huge amount in world football, but enough to bring Beitar Jerusalem, currently eleventh place, to the top of the Israeli league. A son of the sheikh is appointed to the club’s board of directors. It is the largest investment to date that became known after the normalization agreement between Israel and the Emirates.
