As Catalunya Ràdio advanced and has been able to confirm The vanguard, Setién did not reach any agreement with the entity because the agreed amounts of a contract that expired in 2021 have not been paid to him. Therefore, he will resolve his situation in court.

Remember that he was fired for “reasons of the utmost importance”

Sources from the Blaugrana club’s legal services now recall that Quique Setién “was fired for extremely important reasons.” Among them, the overwhelming defeat against Bayern Munich (2-8) in the quarterfinals of the last Champions League.

The one who was the Blaugrana coach during the second half of last season already warned last September that if he failed to reach any agreement, he would take legal action against the club. In a statement issued together with his coaching staff, made up of Eder Sarabia, Jon Pascua and Fran Soto, Setién wanted to publicly clarify his contractual situation and charge against the board for the way chosen when managing his dismissal.

The club fired Setién, but did not do the same with his assistants, Éder Sarabia, Jon Pascua and Fran Soto, who were told that they should fulfill their commitment and would be relocated, although until then they would not receive their salary.

Finally they did fix their contractual situation last Friday, although Sarabia pointed to a farewell letter that “it was not the agreement that corresponded to us, but we have accepted it.”

Sarabia also made reference to the complicated economic situation that the entity is going through, something that, according to him, was already perceived last season. “It is clear that the club is going through a worrying situation, something that when you arrive is clearly perceived and, which directly affects sports performance. You always believe that from within you can be able to help solve it, but for us, despite putting everything on our side, it has been impossible for us ”.

Finally, Sarabia commented that “I say goodbye with a great feeling of sadness, but with the clear hope that things may change and that FC Barcelona will once again be that club and that team that for many years made us enjoy football like no other . Visit Barça ”.
