A pair of sneakers created in collaboration between the sports brand Adidas and the Meissen company, which specializes in porcelain products, were sold this December by the Sotheby’s auction house in New York for $ 126,000.
The footwear was offered in a price range of between $ 1 and $ 1,000,000, thus breaking the record for the most expensive Adidas footwear in history.
The slippers, meticulously hand-decorated by four painters, are made from leather and assembled porcelain overlays. Each weighs 950 grams and their proportions correspond to size 42, although their fragile design makes it unlikely that their owner will want to try to put them on.
