Colombian winger Luis Díaz and Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi rescued Porto on Tuesday, who beat a difficult Vitória de Guimaraes 3-2 with which Colombian striker Óscar Estupiñán shone.
Up to two occasions Taremi had to score (in 42 and 65) to tie the contest, since in minute 7 Rochinha scored for Guimaraes and Estupiñán made it 2-1 in 63.
The balance was unbalanced in 80, with a genius of Luis Díaz in the rival area. He controlled a rained ball that left him dead to finish off the back of the net. The guajiro also starred in an assist in Taremi’s second goal.
With this result, Porto placed third with 25 points, 4 less than the leader, Sporting.
In addition, this Tuesday Benfica beat bottom, Portimonense, in a match where Uruguayan international Darwin Núñez scored 1-0 for the incarnated, who finished the first half with a two-goal advantage after Rafa’s goal.
Portimonense reduced differences with an own goal from Gilberto in 92 and the scoreboard did not move anymore.
The victory serves Benfica to finish 2020 as second in the Portuguese League with 27 points.
After the eleventh day, Sporting leads the table, while Portimonense and Tondela occupy the two relegation places.
U-turn in Guimarães!
Luis Díaz got a spectacular reception after an incomplete relief from Vitória’s defense and then shot with a right foot to the back of the net.
