OM: why Gueye can play against Reims

Expelled Wednesday against Rennes (1-2) due to an involuntary nudge on M’Baye Niang, Olympique de Marseille midfielder Pape Gueye (21 years old, 11 appearances and 1 goal in L1 this season ), was sanctioned with a suspension match Thursday by the disciplinary committee of the LFP. Normally, the former Le Havre was therefore not eligible to face Reims this Saturday (7 p.m.) on the occasion of the 16th day of Ligue 1.

And yet, the Marseillais appears well on the scoresheet and even as a holder! As L’Equipe and RMC Sport explain, OM, which cannot digest this red card, has in fact urgently appealed to the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) which has appointed a conciliator. Pending the verdict, the sanction that hits Gueye is provisionally suspended and the player eligible.
