NBA: the candidates for the Hall of Fame are known

The Basketball Hall of Fame presented the list of candidates for the 2021 Pantheon on Tuesday.

Among those in their first year of eligibility are former NBA players Paul Pierce and Michael Cooper, as well as former WNBA stars Yolanda Griffith and Lauren Jackson.

Doug Collins and Lou Henson could also enter the Temple in the coaching category. Val Ackerman, the first president in the history of the women’s circuit, is also in the running as a builder.

Other big names such as Chris Bosh, Chauncey Billups and Chris Webber will once again try to join the immortals in 2021.

The finalists for entry to the Hall of Fame are expected to be known in March, during the NBA All-Star Game Weekend. The final vintage will then be known in early April, as part of the NCAA Final Four.

The induction ceremony will be held in September in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Recall that due to COVID-19, entry to the Temple of the 2020 vintage, led by Kobe Bryant, has been postponed to May 2021.
