These are the words of the same Donnie Walsh, an icon of basketball in Indianapolis after his experiences as general manager first and then president, a role he held from 1988 until 2008.
In his days as a general manager, his insights as a manager transformed the franchise from a mediocre NBA team to a perennial contender in the eastern conference at the turn of the 90s, thanks also to a remarkable nose for draft prospects.
