The date of the first game should be theFebruary 8, while on January 19, players are expected to gather with their teams, perform physical tests and then leave for Orlando on the 26th. The season will likely last 12-15 games. The cost to support the “bubble” one should between 400 and 500 thousand dollars for each team.

However, not all teams have signed up to participate in the season. The following teams have decided to give up second The Athletic:

Atlanta (College Park Skyhawks), Boston (Maine Red Claws), Chicago (Windy City Bulls), Dallas (Texas Legends), Detroit (Grand Rapids Drive), Los Angeles Lakers (South Bay Lakers), Miami (Sioux Falls Skyforce), Milwaukee (Wisconsin Herd), Phoenix (Northern Arizona Suns), Sacramento (Stockton Kings) and Washington (Capital City Go-Go; will utilize Erie)

The choice of some NBA franchises not to have their satellite team participate is probably due to fear of not being able to draw on useful players to give depth to their roster, especially given the danger of COVID contagion. To make up for the lack of all these teams there will be one made up entirely of high school prospects, called G-League Ignite team. The players on this team are athletes they have chosen to do not enter college.
