Liverpool’s opponents are likely to appear in the Champions League in the last 16 draws after beating Ajax

Liverpool have reached the last 16 of the Champions League, making fans consider their potential opponents in the knockout stage.

The Reds secured first place in Group D thanks to Curtis Jones’ goal at Anfield against Ajax on Tuesday, which earned Jürgen Klopp’s men all three points.

After a disappointing home defeat to Atalanta last month, Liverpool bounced back and secured their place in the knockout stage of the prestigious competition.

Your place at the top of your group means that you will face one of the runner-up teams in the other groups in the Champions League.

This does not apply to English teams such as Manchester United, Man City or Chelsea, who avoid each other until the quarter-finals.

As it stands, the potential opponent would be from Group A. Atletico Madrid – who knocked Klopp’s team out of the competition last season – but FC Red Bull Salzburg and Moscow locomotive can still qualify for the knockout in second place.

Group B is still to be won Borussia Monchengladbach, Shakhtar Donetsk, real Madrid and Inter Milan still all potential opponents for Liverpool.

FC Porto would be Group C’s option if the draw went like this while Sevillewho are tied with Chelsea in Group E could also face the Reds in the last 16.

Borussia Dortmund, Lazio and Club Bruges can all still qualify for second place outside of Group F while it is most likely Juventus Who will finish second in Group G although it is possible Barcelona may fall to second place in the last couple of group matches.

Paris St. Germain and RB Leipzig are the potential Group H opponents for Liverpool.
