Liverpool have the potential to be caught by MU, what did Klopp say?

Newcastle

Liverpool’s inconsistency opens opportunities for Manchester United to exert pressure. Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp is not thinking about the table.

The Reds received the second consecutive draw after playing goalless at Newcastle United headquarters, Thursday (31/12/2020). In the previous match, Liverpool were matched by West Bromwich 1-1 at Anfield.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 12 matches in the Premier League since being thrashed by Aston Villa 2-7 in October. However, only six victories can be won by the defending champion.

One additional point from St. James Park ‘did not change Liverpool’s position at the top of the standings with 33 points. However, the Red will be caught by MU, if they beat Aston Villa at Old Trafford, Saturday (2/1/2021).

Klopp is not worried because the competition is still long. What is clear, Liverpool must immediately return to winning ways, starting from the away match against Southampton at the start of next week.

“The last thing I think about is our position in the standings at the moment,” the German manager said on ESPN. “It’s nice, but it doesn’t mean anything. We drew tonight and we are still top of the table so that shows how difficult this season has been for everyone.”

“When life gives you lemons make lemonade. We have to keep going, the next game, Southampton, Aston Villa, Man United, and it’s good because we know our responsibility.”

“We did not get the results we wanted but it is not the worst thing in the world, there are many worse things that are happening,” added Juergen Klopp after Liverpool were arrested by Newcastle.
