Liverpool deprived of Joël Matip for several weeks

The Cameroonian defender of the Reds was injured Sunday against West Bromwich Albion (1-1). He will be absent for about three weeks, said Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp on Wednesday night after the division against Newcastle (0-0).

The injury of Matip, who had returned from a long injury a few weeks ago, is a new tile for the defense of the Reds, after the injuries of Vrgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

Liverpool lead the Premier League with 33 points from 16 matches, 3 more than runners-up Manchester City. The Reds will play their next game on Monday at Southampton for Matchday 17.
