Liverpool and Porta footballers advance to the round of the Champions League

Liverpool and Porta footballers are the other eight-finalists of the Champions League, joining the already advancing Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Chelsea, Seville, Barcelona and Juventus. Real Madrid, on the other hand, after the defeat in Kiev from Shakhtar, significantly complicated the way to the top 16.

Group A:

Lokomotiv Moscow – Salzburg 1: 3 (0: 2)

The progress in group A was refused by the football players Atlética Madrid, who lost their victory over Bayern in the 86th minute, when Thomas Müller equalized from the penalty to 1: 1. The “Rojiblancos” will compete for second place next in a direct battle with Salzburg next Wednesday. A draw will be enough for the Spanish team.

Bayern finished a series of 15 winning matches in the competition. In the group stage, however, the German team extended the series without defeat to 21 matches, having not lost for more than three years. In Madrid, Bayern had to do without the third best scorer in the history of the Champions League, Robert Lewandowski, captains Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka, who did not travel to Madrid due to the decision of Bayern coach Hans-Dieter Flick.

Shakhtar Donetsk – Real Madrid 2: 0 (0: 0)

Both goals were scored by Shakhtar’s players, in the 57th minute Dentinho opened the score, in the end Salomon pushed through with a solo from his own half. Real lost to Shakhtar in the opening match in Madrid 2: 3, in Ukraine he also lost for the second time in history, the first time was 21 years ago against Dynamo Kyiv.

After the last matches of the Real – Mönchengladbach and Inter – Shakhtar groups, any of the four clubs can advance to the round of 16.

“I am optimistic, it is a complicated moment for us, but we have to draw from our nature and pride. We did not deserve to lose. Now is the time to believe in fate and win at home against Mönchengladbach,” said Real coach Zinédine Zidane after the match. Shakhtar won after scoring a total of ten goals in previous duels with Mönchengladbach.

Inter footballers drew forward hope mainly thanks to two goals by Romel Lukuku in the second half in the range of nine minutes. Mönchengladbach, for which Alassane Pléa scored twice, was able to equalize 3: 3, but the referees defeated Pléa’s hat-trick. After watching the video, the goal was called off by his teammates due to offside.

Olympique Marseille defeated Dimitri Payet Olympiakos Piraeus 2: 1 with two converted penalty kicks and scored his first win of the year.

Liverpool played against Ajax without goal number one Alisson Becker, who stretched his back thigh muscle in Saturday’s match with Brighton. The third goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, who had the winning premiere after the goal of Curtis Jones in the 58th minute, had the premiere in the competition.
