Prague – Petra Kvitová thought that after the age of thirty, no one would see her running a racket after tournaments. However, the tennis passion in the two-time Wimbledon winner will not go out and it is preparing for the fifteenth season on the WTA circuit with a clear vision. She would like to succeed in grand slams and the postponed Olympics.

“When I was younger, I thought I would definitely not play after thirty, and now I’m sitting here and going on. I haven’t thought about how many years I’d like to spend on the court. As long as I enjoy it and my health allows, I’ll be happy to continue.” she said at a press conference.

She celebrated her 30th birthday in March this year and is still one of the world’s best. “I’m slowly one of the oldest, but I don’t notice it on the court. I have motivation, I still want to improve. I enjoy tennis, I really like it. I got a second chance, I appreciate it and I want to squeeze the maximum,” she pointed to her return after a serious hand injuries she suffered during the assault.

She came in front of the press today in a red dress with black stripes and high heels. The evening will present the awards for the past year to Spartan hopes. She is already thinking about the next season. “I hope I can still play,” said the world number eight.

“I hope to make the program ready for big events,” she said. He wants to succeed in gradslams and, for example, add another Olympic medal to the bronze from Rio. She thought for a moment about whether she would take Olympic gold or another Grand Slam title. “Can’t I have both?” she smiled and then added, “Then I would choose Olympic gold and next year maybe a grand slam.”

This year marked measures against coronavirus and the next season will not be different. Tennis players waiting for testing and bubbles. “Everywhere, perhaps,” Kvitova said. The uncertain program of tournaments does not bother. “Tennis has to be improvised. The whole world, even tennis, is in the question mark. I take it as it is. I won’t do anything about it and wait for it to turn out.”
