Spared by the Christmas Day meetings, the Timberwolves players were able to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones. That didn’t stop Karl-Anthony Towns from giving his girlfriend a cheeky present, and what’s more… late.
The NBA is something of a dream unattainable for most basketball players, and those lucky enough to be a part of it are overwhelmingly aware of the privilege that is theirs. However, their place in the league is also accompanied by concessions, and a pace of life that is sometimes very trying.
This observation applies even more this season, when the calendar had to be condensed to find a semblance of normality at the level of the main deadlines. The pace of meetings has been frantic since the resumption, and a good part of the stars had to spend Christmas on the floors at first.
This requisition is part of the traditions, but can always prove to be a handicap for the players. The Timberwolves were however entitled to a day off for this symbolic date, and to spend the day with their family. Karl-Anthony Towns, however, waited until Tuesday to offer his gift to his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods … and did not really sprain.

The little inside troll All-Star obviously gave him a good laugh, since he allowed himself to share the famous present on his Instagram story with a hilarious emoji. But let everyone be reassured, KAT has spent part of his big salary to please his girlfriend, and not end up single on the spot. And even a big part.

A collection of sneakers, handbags, jewelry, clothing, and even… a PS5 as an Xbox ambassador: Towns actually didn’t do things halfway to spoil his mate. The SpongeBob meme was more about teasing… the gifts that haven’t yet been delivered. Santa Claus was decidedly generous on his visit to Minneapolis.
Jordyn Woods was undoubtedly on the verge of severing ties with Karl-Anthony Towns when he discovered an empty box as a Christmas present. Fortunately, in the end, she didn’t have to use her imagination (totally).
