In addition to top stars Dominic Thiem and Dennis Novak (ATP 96), Jurij Rodionov, a third Austrian, is preparing to move into the top 100 of the world rankings next year. The left-hander was nominated by the ATP players’ association as one of only six professionals in the “Newcomer of the Year” category, and the only 17-year-old Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz was honored. The teenager had improved from 492th place to 141st place by the end of the year during the greatly shortened season.
