The Judge of the Azua Investigative Court, Dayana Gil, will hear this Monday the review of the preventive prison coercion measure against the president on leave of the Dominican Badminton Federation (Fedobad), Alberto Bienvenido Sánchez Feliz, accused of allegedly abusing sexually to a minor, while he worked as a Sports teacher, in Azua.
While relatives of the abused minor in her duties as her sports teacher at Colegio San José in Azua, they said they feel concerned because they fear that judges from that area will release him.
Recently the minor was evaluated in a Gesell Chamber in San Cristóbal, by psychologists and a juvenile judge, and she would have described who the accused is and how he committed the facts.
Dr. Pedro Duarte Canaán, lawyer for the mother of the girl who was abused when she was seven years old, said that the accused Alberto Bienvenido Sánchez Feliz, suspended president of the Badminton Federation, is trying to obtain his freedom without measuring the fact committed and I alert the judge not to be surprised since the accused is accused of a serious act.
He said that there are very influential powers that are behind obtaining the freedom of the accused, despite the investigations that they are accused of being responsible for the events.
The complaint against the sports leader and physical education teacher was presented by the lawyer Pedro Duarte Canaán, on behalf of the girl’s mother.
According to the file, the minor is currently being subjected to intensive therapy after being traumatized as a result of sexual abuse by the educator touching her private parts and forcing her to touch his penis.
The psychological evaluation that supports the file was performed on the minor by the forensic psychologist Sorayda Reyes, from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), where it is specified that she committed the events in the room where she kept the basketball balls.
The girl was in grades 1 and 2 of Basic and the teacher took advantage of the time that the sports class corresponded to.
The professor and sports leader is imprisoned at the Police headquarters in Azua, awaiting knowledge of the coercion measure. His arrest occurred in compliance with the arrest warrant, number 00809-2020, issued by the Second Court of the Permanent Attention Instruction of the Azua Judicial District.
The minor confessed to her mother between tears what happened and that she did not want that to happen to another girl that the teacher will force her to touch her private parts.
He said that they hope that this Monday the accused will be sent to preventive detention as a measure of coercion since the elements of evidence and the danger of escape are latent.
The mother said that she feels persecuted by close associates of the sports leader who have sometimes persecuted her during her displacement.
The judge of the Permanent Attention Office of the Judicial District of Azua, Jenny Rosario, sent to preventive prison for two months as a measure of coercion.
The minor’s name is omitted for legal reasons. The magistrate sent the accused to Fortress March 19, for two months. Sánchez Feliz will have to take leave as president of the Fedobad, while in prison.
