Joan Mir’s First Experience with a Suzuki GSX-RR, Impressed with Brakes

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – This season’s Suzuki GSX-RR has amazed other riders in MotoGP. Joan Mir, who became the 2020 MotoGP world champion, shared his first impressions with the GSX-RR.

When he received an offer from Suzuki, Mir admitted that he had doubts and weighed all the advantages and disadvantages. He admitted that he was very interested in Suzuki.

“If I become world champion with them, it will be something extraordinary, unforgettable, and historic. Now, we celebrate a piece of that history,” said Mir, quoted from Speedweek.com.

Mir admits that he still remembers his first experience with the GSX-RR. According to him, the speed of the motorbike was extraordinary and what impressed him the most was the braking system.

“The strength of the brakes really surprised me. The bike is also longer than the standard bike, so it offers good stability in fast corners,” said Mir.

According to Mir, this year the GSX-RR is even better in terms of traction, which is a big help. It is known that this season, not a few riders have complained about traction with the new tires brought by Michelin.

“It is a very balanced and complete bike, and together with its adaptability to all circuits and conditions, the reasons for winning the title this year,” said Mir.
