Historic beating of the Bucks with triple record in the NBA included

The Bucks left the Florida bubble more than two months ago with a very bad feeling. Giannis Antetokounmpo he had not been able to give everything at the time of being eliminated, dragging some physical discomfort, and the image was bad before some Heat who climbed to the Eastern Conference to end up being his representatives in the 2020 Finals. Rumors were beginning to drown the Greek, who seemed to have his head more outside than within the team. 80 days later, as Erik Spoelstra remarked at the end of his new clash, everything has changed. The loss of Jimmy Butler, who was the one who lectured Anteto in Lake Buena Vista, was noticed, but so did the desire that the greens had to start a victory of those that they savor with great pleasure.

They met again and the result was the opposite of what was seen in last season’s bubble. And not just for Butler anymore, for almost all the Heat. They were a bad copy of themselves. The Bucks took advantage of it and signed a 97-144 that enters fully into the annals of the numerical history of the NBA.

Milwaukee’s previous game had brought him a loss to the Knicks, which already sounds bad. At Madison they managed to make 7 of 38 shots of three, their worst mark in all of 2020. Only two nights later, in the immediate commitment, the Bucks reached 29/51 (56.9% correct), which is already the record for triples scored in a North American league game by a single team. Exhibition of the period before the current runner-up of the competition, which is no nonsense. AND the +47 difference in the score is the widest of the Bucks as visitors, surpassing -to close the circle- a +39 in 1987 against the Knicks.

The first two minutes left a clue as to why everything was going to go down: 0-12 partial thanks to the three losses of the locals. What would fail in the prediction would be the role of Giannis, who was the one who crowned that opening effort and who would be only 9 points after 24 minutes. It is the first time that the Greek MVP does not reach ten scoring since 2017, there were already 132 games in a row.

The handling of the situation by Holiday and DiVincenzo, similar profiles that Mike Budenholzer now enjoys, was conducive to making the Heat giddy up the court. Middleton’s individual options added to it. The offenses came from all fronts and the locals only knew how to turn to Tyler Herro (23 points and 7 assists) in attack and Casper in defense.

The party was dead at halftime. There was no comparison. The ones who ended up looking at each other were the Bucks players to see who could score the most from the perimeter. Holiday, with 6, was the first, with DiVincenzo (5), Middleton (4), Lopez (3), Augustin (2), Forbes (2), Nwora (2), Connaughton (1), Merrill (1), Wilson (1), Portis (1) and Thanasis Antetokounmpo (1) like other contributors. A review of the book, specifically the record book.
