FC Schalke 04: quarreling team allegedly “broken”

FC Schalke 04 is in the worst crisis in its history. In terms of sport, the royal blues presented themselves as badly as probably never before in the last few months. Moving into the next round of the cup cannot hide that. One reason for the crisis: numerous sources of fire behind the scenes.

After 29 Bundesliga games in a row without a win, there is little hope for FC Schalke. A new trainer is to save the sinking ship from sinking next year. How exactly this is supposed to succeed is and will remain a mystery.

The new coach of the Royal Blues shouldn’t expect the team to pull itself together. This is at least suggested by a current report by “Sport Bild”, which paints a disastrous picture of the team.

Accordingly, the Schalke team is “broken” and consists only of “I-AGs”, there is no longer a real sense of community. While experienced players were still organizing team evenings together a few years ago, their colleagues are now “irrelevant” even to old hands, writes the paper.

FC Schalke 04: allegations by the professionals against ex-coach Manuel Baum

However, there was talk among themselves when it came to the work of ex-coach Manuel Baum. One reproach from the team: Baum sparked too little euphoria before the games.

Another accusation that sounds almost absurd from the outside: According to “Sport Bild”, the players didn’t like the fact that the ex-coach did not make an official debut.

The engagement of ex-professional Naldo as an assistant coach is said to have caused trouble. The senior professionals would have perceived Naldo under Domenico Tedesco as “stinky boots” in the cabin. The fact that it was the former central defender of all people who should create a good atmosphere has provided fuel, reports “Sport Bild”.

“Massive incomprehension” in the team also triggered the lightning pardon of Amine Harit in the game against SC Freiburg. The 23-year-old had previously been suspended for two games and was back in the starting line-up after just two training sessions. A decision by Baum and Head of Sport Schneider, which was anything but well received.
