FC Nantes fans welcome new coach Raymond Domenech with clown music

Raymond Domenech is said to save FC Nantes from relegation from Ligue 1. However, some fans disagree with his commitment. They did it willfully during the first training under Domenech.

Raymond Domenech is 68 years old and has been in the football business for many decades. He coached the French national team for six years and took part in the 2006 and 2010 World Championships. He played for Lyon, Strasbourg, PSG and Bordeaux. An action like the one that took place at his new employer, FC Nantes, has probably never happened to him.

What happened? On Christmas Day Domenech was presented as the new coach of the relegation-threatened first division club. He replaced the hapless Christian Gourcuff.

However, this decision was not universally accepted in fan circles. At Domenech’s first training session, members of the “Brigade Loire” fan club vented their displeasure. Domenech, president and player of the table 16 without a win for eight games. Ligue 1 got a lot “on their ears”.

They defamed the training for a circus act by playing clown music from tape and smugly commenting on the events and the current situation of their club. This is shown by a video that is making the rounds on Twitter.

The spokesman for the fan group “presented” the training with the words: “Ladies and gentlemen, a warm welcome to the day-care circus. The day-care circus shows you some new, amazing performances.”

Kita stands for the name of the unloved Polish President Waldemar Kita, who has been running the club since 2007, but the fans are apparently fed up with it.

“Eleven goats have to pass a ball”

You can also hear: “Raymond Domenech will explain his vision of football to us, which will make us laugh over the coming weekends.”

Then it was the turn of the players: “And finally, the day-care circus shows us its traditional animal act: eleven goats are placed on a green rectangle and have to pass a ball.”

Some actors found the action less funny. It was reported that midfielder Abdoulaye Toure had to be held back by colleagues so that he would not attack the troublemakers.

Incidentally, Domenech’s contract runs until the end of the season. He will probably not forget his start any time soon.
