The Argentine team beat the Brazilian Internacional 5-4 in the penalty shootout, after losing 1-0 in the 90 minutes, in the second leg of the round of 16 that was played at the Bombonera, in Buenos Aires.

Frank Fabra (47 ′, against) scored the only goal of the night:

Boca ended the game with ten players due to the expulsion of Agustín Obando (90 + 4), after a strong infraction on Edenilson.

In the penalty shootout, Boca Juniors won 5-4. Cardona made the second charge for the team from Boquense but Lomba stopped it and Fabra made the fourth pitch.

In the end, the Argentines qualified after Peglow shot his shot wide for Inter.

In the first match, played last week, Boca had won 1-0, so the series was tied 1-1 on aggregate, forcing the tiebreaker from eleven meters.

In the quarterfinals, starting next Wednesday, Boca will face Racing, which has just eliminated Flamengo, the reigning champion of the Libertadores.
