Several directives related to the coronavirus were relaxed on Friday by the Vaud Council of State. In addition to the reopening of cinemas and theaters on December 19, announced in consultation with three other French-speaking cantons, it once again allows the indoor practice of certain sports in groups of five people. This concerns in particular gymnastics, yoga, pilates, tennis or badminton.

However, certain conditions must be respected: each participant must have a surface of four square meters for exclusive use or fifteen square meters if the activity involves leaving their seat. If this is not possible, wearing a mask is mandatory, said the State of Vaud on Friday in a press release. The changing rooms and showers remain closed.

Religious ceremonies

Another relaxation concerns religious ceremonies which will be limited to 50 people as of December 19, against 30 participants so far. Funerals should continue to take place in the strict privacy of the family.

Another modification, valid immediately, the closed places of zoological and botanical parks can once again welcome visitors.

For the cafes-restaurants which will be able to reopen on December 10, the Council of State also specifies that the distribution of music must not exceed 75 decibels and that the use of games is prohibited there.
