Congo-Brazzaville: Judo – The Congolese national Olympic and sports committee pleads for an imminent and peaceful election

In a December 15 correspondence from the president of the Congolese national Olympic and sports committee (Cnos), Raymond Ibata asked the president of the African Judo Union for an election that takes into account all stakeholders.

In this document, of which we have received a copy, Raymond Ibata explained the evolution of the crisis which is undermining the Congolese Judo Federation and associated disciplines (Fecojuda) before recalling the need to organize an elective general assembly as soon as possible. The president of the Cnos indicated that a standardization committee headed by the representative of the African Judo Union has been set up to prepare and organize the elections.

“Aware that respect for others, fair play, the protection of the health of athletes and the culture of peace are the general principles which govern the management of sport, we wish the organization of a peaceful elective general assembly and out of the crisis by involving all stakeholders, ”explained Raymond Ibata.

He also added in his letter that this approach could be done while respecting the texts governing the proper functioning of this federation, but also taking into account the national provisions which would require that “in the absence of organization of a national championship during the past Olympiad, the electorate having elected the outgoing office is renewed, ”he recalled.

Note that the Fecojuda remains to this day the only federation which has not yet renewed its instances on the thirty-two national sports federations in the Congo.
