Francesco Belli (photo) and Mattia Morini are the winners of the Reggio stage of Ubi Dunker, the dunk race staged at the Noce city playground, where the new baskets were inaugurated that were offered up for grabs by Ubi Banca and Nba, sponsors of the event. The real challenge of the athletes who took part in the event was with the weather conditions: “We struggled a lot” explains Belli, who plays in C Silver with the Scandiano basketball jersey “and on a technical level I could certainly have done better”. The Novellarese Morini won in the first round with a remix, while in the final play-off it was Belli, thanks to a frontal dunk, who took home the first place: both athletes thus snatched the pass for the final scheduled for the next few weeks in Rome, where Marco Belinelli will be among the judges, who has returned to Italy after many seasons overseas. “I am very excited about participating in the final, I grew up in the myth of Space Jam (which he has tattooed on his arm – ed) and right now I really miss the basketball played”, concludes Belli.
