Amazon AFL Documentary: Betts, Naitanui and Sloane Star

The big names tracked in a documentary series by Eddie McGuire’s media company for Amazon have been revealed.

The footballing identities of the $ 10 million documentary series to be streamed on Amazon Prime have been revealed.

The seven-hour episodes entitled Making Their Mark will be released on March 12th next year.

They’ll introduce star players – Nic Naitanui from the West Coast, Eddie Betts from Carlton, Stephen Coniglio from GWS and Rory Sloane from Adelaide; Then there are Stuart Dew and the Gold Coast Suns hierarchy, President Peggy O’Neal, General Manager Brendon Gale and Trainer Damien Hardwick.

The Magpies were one of several clubs targeted by Amazon executives in the streaming giant’s first foray into Australian football content.

Collingwood President Eddie McGuire reached out to the Magpies’ football division to become part of the series, but the advance payment was denied.

McGuire’s media company Jam TV produced the series, which captures the ups and downs of an interrupted COVID-19 season. It is broadcast in 244 countries.

Amazon Prime Video has commissioned six original series in Australia since 2019.

“Making Their Mark gives fans incredible behind-the-scenes access to a story that is second to none,” said Sarah Wyse, general manager for media and digital at AFL.

Director Gil Marsden added, “A crisis like this year has put the strength and determination of every team in the league to the test as the teams deliver the best AFL for fans all year round.

“It is an incredible honor to trust our clubs to see their sacrifices and challenges first-hand this season, culminating in the epic Richmond Grand Final win on screen.”
