Jakarta

Paris Saint-Germain visited Manchester United in the Champions League. Marco Verratti hopes that one of the MU stars, Paul Pogba, will not play.

MU vs PSG takes place at Old Trafford, Thursday (3/12/2020) at 3.00 WIB. PSG are required to win in order to keep the chances of qualifying for the knockout stages.

PSG is now in second place in the Champions League Group H with a collection of 6 points, the same as RB Leipzig’s point collection. MU, who have collected 9 points, only need one additional point to advance to the last 16.

Pogba is one of Manchester’s midfield stars. However, at the start of this season, the French player had to share playing time with other United midfielders: Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay, Fred, to Nemanja Matic.

When MU won over Southampton in the Premier League at the weekend, Pogba was not included in the squad. Verratti also hopes that Pogba will not play again in tomorrow’s match.

“Paul Pogba is a fantastic player, has a great personality and performer,” said Verratti di Daily Star.

“To be honest, I hope he doesn’t play. But, we can’t just focus on one of them.”

Verratti welcomed the match at Old Trafford this time with enthusiasm. The Italiano realized that more effort was needed in order to overthrow the Red Devils.

“It is an extraordinary stadium, built for playing football and it is up to us to show what we can do,” said Verratti.

“We have to give 150 percent of our ability. Nobody will give us a prize,” he added.
