Zarco’s turn to be the fastest

Johann Zarco became the fastest in the second free practice of the 2020 Portuguese MotoGP. He managed to beat Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro.

The second training session was held on Friday (20/11/2020) at 14.00 local time. Located at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, Zarco managed to improve his time in the first session, which was only 1 minute 41.181 seconds.

In FP 2, the Esponsorama Racing rider from France managed to record 1 minute 39, 417 seconds. The second and third positions are still occupied by Vinales and Espargaro who in the previous session also won the same position. Vinales was 0.119 seconds adrift of Zarco, while Espargaro lost 0.109 seconds to Vinales.

Fabio Quartararo is fourth with a time of 1 minute 39.692 seconds. Brad Binder and Joan Mir followed in fifth and sixth. Andrea Dovizioso, Pol Espargaro, Jack Miller and Franco Morbidelli complete the top 10 positions.

Valentino Rossi is the only Yamaha rider who has failed to break into the top 10. He had crashed at Turn 4, when the training session left less than 20 minutes. He is only 21st with a time of 1 minute 41.279 seconds.

Honda also recorded poor results in the second session. Unlike the first session, this time none of them made it into the top 10. Stefan Bradl is in 11th position, followed by Takaaki Nakagami (position 12), Cal Crutchlow (position 14), and Alex Marquez (position 18).
