Celebrity Tom Brady admits not everything is perfect since joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Long plays, in particular, are problematic for the star quarterback this season.
Indeed, Brady has completed only one of his 13 attempts to pass over 20 yards in his last three games.
“We definitely need to do better,” Brady said in an interview with the Tampa Bay Times. The guys are doing a good job of getting into the field and it’s my job to find them and join them. If I don’t get it, it’s just long lost passes and we’ve had a few of those in the last few games. ”
Brady and the Bucs are still doing very well, as evidenced by the 46-23 victory over the Carolina Panthers last Sunday. The former New England Patriots pivot had a great game completing 28 of his 39 throws for 341 yards and three touchdowns.
Nonetheless, the weakness on long games has once again shone through. Brady also posted his lowest average yards per pass (10.8 yards) since 2002.
A big challenge
The 43-year-old quarterback will try to turn things around on Monday against the Los Angeles Rams, who have one of the best defenses in the NFL.
“It’s a top-10 defense in all categories,” Brady said. They have some really good players, some are not that well known, but they play really well. They are fast, aggressive and they have a good structure. You don’t have a lot of time as a quarterback to get an idea since that defensive line is on you very quickly. ”
With a 7-3 record so far this season, the Bucs could steal the top spot in the National South section from the New Orleans Saints with a win.
“It’s a big game for us,” added Brady. It’s ours and we have to be 100% ready. ”
