Tim Duncan says goodbye to Spurs

This 2020 has been one of many changes for the San Antonio Spurs, a team with a winning tradition that unfortunately this season lost their streak of 22 consecutive years reaching the Playoffs. There is some uncertainty about the future of the Texan team and, after a year on the bench, Tim Duncan says goodbye to the Spurs, as revealed by Marc Stein of the New York Times. In this season where he was alongside Gregg Popovich and Becky Hammon, Timmy was in command of the team in a game against the Charlotte Hornets, taking his first win as a head coach.

It is worth mentioning that Tim Duncan did not accompany the Spurs in their stay in the Orlando bubble, this to stay with LaMarcus Aldridge and help him to recover from his recent surgery on his right shoulder. Thanks to his absence, Becky Hammon became the team’s head coach in one of the preparation games that were played in Orlando, marking a historic event for the NBA. Spurs headquarters remains quiet, and while Duncan’s departure may be a heavy blow, we know that Gregg Popovich will soon find a new apprentice to help him on the bench.
