The Patriots cause surprise

The New England Patriots caused the surprise of the 10th week of NFL activity by beating the Baltimore Ravens 23-17 on Sunday night in Foxborough.

Under a torrential rain, the attack of the “Pats” bet on the game on the ground, while the defense rose in key moments.

Running back Damien Harris did his job wonderfully, amassing 121 yards on 22 carries.

Cam Newton had 21 yards and a touchdown with his legs. The Patriots quarterback (4-5) has thus become the first pivot since the establishment of the Super Bowl to register nine majors with his legs in his first eight games of the season.

Newton also completed 13 of his 17 attempted passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. In the first quarter he joined Rex Burkhead in the pay zone.

The 30-year-old running back caught two assists for majors in that game, but the second was not thrown by Newton. It was rather the receiver Jakobi Meyers who sent him this relay, while the “Pats” were playing a rigged game.

Defensively, cornerback JC Jackson made an interception in a fifth straight game. He is the first player in Patriots history to achieve this feat.

For the Ravens (6-3), Lamar Jackson had 24 of his 34 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns. Both times, Willie Snead IV was his target.

The third-year hub also traveled 55 yards on 11 carries.

Next week, the Patriots will look for a third straight win for the first in 2020, as they visit the Texans in Houston. For their part, the Ravens will try to bounce back against the Tennessee Titans, who will be visiting Baltimore.
