The Italian Grand Prix was won by the Italian Franco Morbidelli and after the third victory of the season he moved to the second place in the standings, but he did not delay the coronation of the new champion. Mir won only one race this year, a week ago in Valencia the European Grand Prix, but his lead is now 29 points and there are only 25 of them in the game.

“Just unbelievable, I have no words. I’ve been striving for this my whole life,” said the moved Mir. At the beginning of the season shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic, he did not finish two of the three races, but in the next ten he added three second and three third places and last time he also finished as the ninth rider in an unusually balanced season and victory. “I can’t laugh, I can’t cry, it’s a mixture of feelings. When you strive for it all your life, you can’t describe it,” he continued.

With the title in the strongest class, Mir continued after three years in the weakest Moto3. Thanks to him, the Suzuki manufacturer is rejoicing in the first title in the royal category since 2000, when the then class up to 500 cc was dominated by the American Kenny Roberts.

Hamilton is the seventh world champion. He leveled Schumacher!

The other champions will not be decided until next Sunday in Portugal. Albert Arenas from Spain is closest to the titles in Moto3 and Enea Bastianini from Italy in Moto2.

The weakest class in Valencia was dominated by the Italian driver Tony Arbolino and after the first victory of the season and the third in his career he dramatized the fight for the title. Arenas finished fourth on the home track and increased his lead over eight points over his nearest rival Aiem Ogura from Japan. Arbolino loses three more, no one else is in the game for the overall championship.

Filip Salač did not enter the penultimate race of the season due to an injury from Friday’s training. After the fall, he ended up in the hospital with severely bruised ribs and fluid in his lungs. Before the final Grand Prix of Portugal, he remained 21st with 30 points.

In Moto2, Bastianini also consolidated his leading position in sixth place. His biggest rival Sam Lowes from Britain started after a fall in training with self-denial due to a wrist injury, as the 14th in the finish he scored only two points and his loss deepened to 14 points.

During the second triumph of the Spaniard Jorge Martín in the season, two other Italians, Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi, stayed in the game for the title, leaving Bastianini behind in the race. Their compatriot Fabio Di Gianantonio was aiming for the victory in Spain, but he fell in the last round.
