Squad planner without a plan? Michael Reschke is criticized internally at FC Schalke. Apparently the club is working on a separation

Schalke 04 is deeply in crisis. Now Michael Reschke must be the first to hold his head for it. The squad planner is said to have offered a player for sale without his knowledge and behind the back of the board.
Dhe ongoing sporting crisis at FC Schalke could apparently soon have the first consequences. According to consistent media reports, Michael Reschke, squad planner at the Revierklub, is facing the end.
As “Sport1” and “Kicker” report, the broken relationship between Reschke and sports director Jochen Schneider is considered the reason for a possible separation. Apparently there are serious differences in the sporting leadership of Schalke.
After the catastrophic second half of the season, Reschke is said to have spoken out against the continued employment of coach David Wagner, whom the club had only replaced by Manuel Baum at the end of September after the false start to the current season.

In addition, there should have been disagreements about various executive decisions. While Reschke was already fundamentally in agreement with goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow from SC Freiburg about a change in the summer, coach Wagner preferred a right-back. Schneider took the coach’s side.
There was a scandal in the case of Omar Mascarell. According to the reports, Reschke negotiated in the final phase of the transfer negotiations at the beginning of October with Hertha BSC about a change of the midfielder. But neither Mascarell nor sports director Schneider would have known about the negotiations.
Mascarell’s advisor is said to have contacted Schneider to ask how the club is planning with the 27-year-old Spaniard. The sports director reacted horrified and announced that Reschke had not informed him about his approach. Schneider put a stop to a sale of Mascarell.

Almost two months later, 63-year-old Reschke, who previously worked at VfB Stuttgart and FC Bayern, is about to be fired. The Schalke supervisory board has apparently been working intensively for a few weeks with a separation from Reschke, who still has a contract with Schalke until 2022. The committee agreed that some positions must be improved in winter to avoid the first relegation since 1988. Schneider is even said to have contacted cadre planners already available on the market.
Schalke are at the bottom of the Bundesliga table with just three points after eight match days. The program for the coming weeks will not be easier: The Baum-Elf will meet Mönchengladbach on November 28th and Bayer Leverkusen eight days later.
