Lee Hagipantelis, chairman of Wests Tigers, has returned to serve at support Josh Aloiai and tells the frontrower, “He can mow the lawns in Leichhardt and Campbelltown as far as we are concerned.”
Aloiai sensationally demanded an immediate release of Concord on Tuesday by texting CEO Justin Pascoe claiming “I will never wear the shirt again.”
But the Tigers have been used too often as an NRL doormat, and the chairman has refused to let Aloiai out of the final year of his contract.

“For us he can mow the lawns in Leichhardt and Campbelltown and paint the sheds in Concord,” Hagipantelis told Fox Sports.
“He is a contract employee with the Wests Tigers for 2021 and will remain with the club on the terms of his appointment.”
Hagipantelis has also once again supported West Tigers trainer Michael Maguire and remains firmly convinced that the club will soon announce that the Premiership winner at Concord has been extended to the end of 2023.

Maguire’s new deal means the Tigers manager has five years to fix the mess the club has gotten itself into and silence the incessant narrative of how the ex-South Sydney coach did has lost support in the playgroup.
No matter how true the rumors are, the Wests Tigers board is committed to ensuring that Maguire is the coach to end the longest drought in the 2011 NRL final.

PANTHERS SELECTED BY RIVALS
The Penrith Panthers quickly spotted the price of success when the club’s young gun roster has been dismantled by NRL clubs since the grand finale.
Young rookie Daine Laurie is the youngest player to sign up to leave the club to join the Wests Tigers in 2022.
We all know how this rodeo goes. Laurie will now start getting involved in a release to join the Wests Tigers for the next year.
It doesn’t end there either. Rookie prop Spencer Leniu and Matt Burton, the fifth and eighth Young Guns, are believed to come very close to the terms of joining the Bulldogs.
Both will mean huge losses.
Then throw in NSW blues trio Jarome Luai, Stephen Crichton and Isaah Yeo, all of whom no longer have contracts by the end of next year, and suddenly the Panthers are planning to get everyone’s looks in serious trouble.
Perhaps the smarter game would have been to lock Luai up when they decided he was the best five-eighths ahead of Burton in the middle of the season.

CAM’S DISAPPEARING ACT ONLY THE LATEST NO SHOW
Cameron Smith’s no-show for the Melbourne Storm Champion’s newly released book commercials is far from being the first time Smith has mysteriously scratched at the last minute.
There was the Dally M Awards in 2019 when Smith left it to Craig Bellamy to pick up his Captain of the Year award and we were told he got down on his knees at the last minute with a stomach issue.
Brett Finch’s wedding took place in early 2018, around the time Smith had decided to call off ex-teammate and great colleague Cooper Cronk’s wedding.
And who could forget their mysterious midseason retirement from Origin football in 2018, when the champion hooker pulled the pen from Queensland coach Kevin Walters three weeks before Origin I?
Remember, Smith had played 42 State of Origin games for the Maroons and holds the record for most appearances in the Origin arena.
Three weeks? The decision surely surprised everyone, including coach Walters.
It will be fascinating to see what Smith has to say when he finally speaks given the initial backlash against the book.

Friend in need of advice
Jake Friend’s shock at the home state level is a perfectly legitimate debate.
Many experts in the game believe that Friend was affected not only in Origin II but also in State of Origin I in Adelaide.
You can see him rolling out of a device in a daze in the second half before grabbing his shoulder and shaking it off.
But the Roosters captain somehow managed to fly under the radar compared to the focus on Boyd Cordner and Cameron Munster from the series’ first two games.
Freund – like Rooster’s teammates Cordner and Luke Keary – has a history of concussions.
RAIDER’S ORIGINAL SUCCESS COMES AT A PRICE
The Canberra Raiders were thrilled when the hard-working front rower Dunamis Lui was rewarded with his debut in the country of origin for the Maroons in Origin II.
Lui has long been considered one of the unsung members of the Green Machine Forward Pack, and the representative jumper was deserved.
It came with a slight stab for the Raiders, however. Lui received a hard-earned $ 30,000 bonus for making his home state debut for Queensland.
It was written in his contract. Luis’ partnership with Josh Papalii has been a huge part of the Green Machine’s success and the duo will be joined by Ryan James of the Gold Coast for the next season.
James has arrived in Canberra and is already impressed with his professionalism compared to the previous season.

Hard calls are waiting for the dragon
New kite coach Anthony Griffin held the first day of the club’s preseason on Tuesday and will soon have to make some important decisions around the Red V roster.
Cameron McInnes, a member of the NSW Blues squad, will no longer have a contract at the end of next season and the club will have to decide which position is best.
McInnes played both dummy half and lock under Paul McGregor last season and was consistently the best player at St. George Illawarra.
But the Dragons also called for Ben Hunt to be a hooker for much of the season, and there’s a view that better fits the way the Queensland utility likes to play.
Under the new coach Griffin, Hunt is planned to play at the Halfback and McInnes at the Hooker.
This is McInne’s preferred position. Should the dragons decide otherwise, McInnes will have no shortage of clubs.
