If there’s one league where a first-year player can make a major difference in a lineup, it’s the NFL.

While the Goodell circuit is in its 10th week of activities, the QMI Agency offers a top 5 of the best rookies of the 2020 season.

1. Joe Burrow – Quarterback – Cincinnati Bengals

The first-ever pick in the last NFL Draft didn’t disappoint in his first NFL campaign. Despite playing with a team that is sorely lacking in talent, he is on his way to breaking Andrew Luck’s record for air wins. The mark is 4,374 yards, while Burrow currently has 2,272 yards.

The 221 passes completed by the pivot of the Bengals in his first eight games is a record.

Burrow also allowed his team to amass more wins than in 2019, he who has already experienced the happiness of victory twice this season.

2. Antoine Winfield fils – Marauder – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

No defensive rookie has more impact on his team than Winfield Jr. in 2020. The second-round pick (45th overall) had 51 tackles, including 34 solo. He also had an interception and two sacks.

Winfield Jr. is one of only two freshmen to record at least 30 tackles, a quarterback sack and an interception in his first nine games.

3. Justin Jefferson – Receiver – Minnesota Vikings

The wide receiver is a blessing for the Vikings, as Jefferson skillfully replaced Stefon Diggs’ production in their lineup.

In eight games, the 21-year-old made 34 catches for 627 yards and three majors. These statistics put him in first position in his team and among all rookies.

4. Patrick Queen – Linebacker – Baltimore Ravens

Queen is particularly impressive with her stature and fiery on the pitch. The 28th overall pick in the last draft sent 52 opponents to the ground, 38 times solo and had two sacks. He also recovered two dropped balls and brought one back on 53 yards for a touchdown.

5. Justin Herbert – Quarterback – Los Angeles Chargers

The rookie quarterback played luck to secure his first start, as a medical error forced Tyrod Taylor to throw the towel in the second week of NFL activity.

Herbert performed and made sure he hasn’t returned to the bench since. In seven games, he completed 67% of his throws for 2,146 yards and 17 majors. He was the victim of only five thefts.

Herbert was unable to score many wins, however, as he suffered six losses. However, he lost all of those games with a gap of seven points or less.
