NBA The franchise is considering moving due to international travel restrictions
Lthe Raptors follow looking for a new home to move in temporarily as long as international movement restrictions continue due to COVID-19, something that could cause problems for them on their many trips next season.
Nashville is one of the cities the franchise is contemplating as a possibility. The city of Tennessee has been gaining positions in the ranking and has already been visited by those responsible for the Raptors to study facilities. The team will play at the Bridgestone Arena, with a capacity for 19,395 spectators, where they already play their matches a professional team, the Nashville Predators of the NHL ice hockey.
If relocation to Nashville occurs, the state of Tennessee will have two teams in the NBAWell, the Grizzlies are also from there and curiously both would have come from Canada, since the Memphis landed from Vancouver. But there are more options for the Raptors. Tampa Bay or Missouri are other cities that have on the list.
The one that seems totally ruled out is Louisville, which was the first city that emerged to host the Raptors. Many of the players expressed their discomfort at having to go to play in the city where the police murdered Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old African-American woman who worked as a technician in health emergencies, in March. Kansas City also fell off the list when civil rights groups recommended the franchise not to move there.
