Manly Sea Eagles NRL player Dylan Walker has been charged with alleged assault

Manly Sea Eagles star Dylan Walker was charged by NSW police with an alleged attack in Sydney on Sunday night.

7NEWS believe the police were called to a restaurant in Narraweena shortly before 9 p.m. after reports of a fight.

According to witness statements, the altercation began after a man left the venue and tried to get into the parked car of a woman he did not know.

“When confronted, the man allegedly became aggressive and was allegedly involved in a physical altercation in which he attacked two men before escaping,” police said.

Walker, 26, was arrested at a nearby location and taken to Manly Police Station.

“He was charged with two joint attacks and was given conditional bail due to appear in Manly County Court on Wednesday, November 18, 2020,” police said.

The arrest comes a week after the end of the NRL finals, which ended the challenging season of coronavirus interference, and just days before the belated State of Origin series begins.

Walker has played seven NRL games for Manly that year. His season was interrupted in June by an ankle injury.

He is believed to have another year of contract with the Sea Eagles.

The former NSW Origin representative had previously missed the start of the 2019 season after being resigned by the NRL as part of its no-fault policies.
