Manchester United news and broadcast RECAP Dembele to Man Utd and Fred at the latest

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suggested that Scott McTominay and Fred would be Manchester United’s most stable midfield partnership for their attackers to thrive.

McTominay and Fred were called back for beating Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park after Fred was missed in the midweek Champions League loss to Istanbul Basaksehir, where McTominay appeared in the second half.

The pair have started together in five of United’s last seven games, including wins over Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain, and the draw with Basaksehir was the only game Fred was rested for in the last seven games.

“Scott and Fred did a brilliant job together,” said Solskjaer. “They’re a great partnership. Of course they didn’t start during the week. Scott played 45 minutes in Turkey but you can tell they have fresh legs.”

United’s squad is now in international service and Victor Lindelof will not be attending Sweden’s upcoming clash with Denmark due to quarantine rules.
