Lin Jarvis, Yamaha’s sporting director, has spoken about the sanctions against the brand and has provided more details on what happened. The Japanese factory modified the homologation machine earlier in the season, which was punished by the FIM.

Yamaha has been making headlines for a few days now. The reason: the penalty imposed by FIM for opening their engines at the start of the season without permission from MSMA.

Because of this, the tuning fork brand lost points in both the constructors’ and the team standings, although the sanction had no impact on brand drivers fighting for the title.

Lin Jarvis, Yamaha’s sporting director, has discussed the matter on the MotoGP website. The Briton has assured that “I think it is fair that the riders are not punished”.
