League leader “Ķekavas Bulldogs / NND” wins “Līgatne”
The sixth victory in seven games was won by the leader of the ELVI floorball women’s league “Ķekavas Bulldogs / NND”, who tonight in the opponent’s field with 6:2 defeated the team “Līgatne”. The winning goalkeeper Jana Filipsone blocked 27 out of 29 opponent shots.
Both “Līgatne” and “Ķekavas Bulldogs / NND” had suffered one loss before the mutual game. With 1:10, Ķekaviete had acknowledged the superiority of Kocēni “Rubene”, but the women of Līga had suffered the only loss, competing for the first time in this tournament with “Ķekavas Bulldogs / NND” – 5: 9. The second game was also started more successfully by the bunch of women, who already in the first period after the accurate throws of Valerija Stankuna, Anda Luža and Līga Vancāne took the lead with 3: 0. In the 25th minute, after Annas Ankudinova’s goal, the result became 4: 0. Only in the 32nd minute, when Laura Vancāne stood out with the goal, the goal was finally cleared by the hosts of the field – 1: 4. During the last period, the guests achieved even a five-goal advantage – 6: 1, Līga Vancāne and Anna Mūrniece scored. The last goal goal in this match belonged to the Liga women – a minute before the end of the game, Liene Adamane stood out with a goal (2: 6). “Ķekavas Bulldogs / NND” celebrated a convincing victory with 6: 2.
Jana Filipsone, the goalkeeper, received the award for the best player in the ranks, who dealt with 27 out of 29 opponents’ shots. Her teammate Līga Vancāne scored two goals, both Anna – Mūrniece and Ankudinova scored 2 (1 + 1) points. Madara Adamani was recognized as the best among the women from Līga, who stood out with one effective pass. After this victory, “Ķekavas Bulldogs / NND” became even stronger at the top of the tournament table with 18 points. Team Līgatne nine points and still third position.
