A priori, the Bogdan Bogdanovic track is abandoned for the Lakers, since the management has chosen to extend Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, the team’s third leading scorer in the Finals against the Heat. At the club since 2017, “KCP” is rewarded for this superb end of the season with a contract of 40 million over three years.
A few days ago, he had chosen to put aside an 8.5 million dollar season, and he therefore won his bet. The 27-year-old former Pistons back has the typical “3 & D” profile that teams have been snapping up for a few years, and his versatility allows him to defend in several positions.
For the Lakers, it helps stop the bleeding after the departures of Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard or Avery Bradley, and the team has anyway managed a great offseason by recovering Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell, the two best substitutes of last season. All while retaining the qualities of external skill and defense with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, but also the arrival of Wesley Matthews, who will take over the role of Danny Green.
