Jordi García del Moral has taken a step forward in his professional career. The golfer from Castellón had a very clear objective for this unusual year and has ended up achieving it in a big way. García del Moral has ranked first in the 2020 Order of Merit and has obtained a card for next year’s Challenge Tour.
This circuit serves as training and launching session for golf professionals who want to access the European Tour, where the amounts in prizes are considerably higher as well as the repercussions they have. In this way, the Castellón golfer will be able to take part in the European Tour through the invitations that are being made.
García del Moral needed to certify his success this past week with a good performance at the Italy Alps Open, corresponding to the Alps Tour, so as not to depend on third parties in his final classification. The Castellón was ninth with -5 and that card was enough to settle in the first position of the Order of Merit with a substantial difference, of almost 4,000 points, over the Barcelonian Lucas Vacarisas, who narrowly surpassed the French player Jeong Weon Ko and won the second card for the edition of the Challenge Tour next year 2021.
It should be remembered that García del Moral debuted his international record this year by winning the Cervino Alps Open in the first week of last September. His next appointment will be the Andalucía Challenge at the Real Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri.
