Joan Mir Will Attack, but …

Valencia

Joan Mir’s mission to lock the world champion title in Valencia MotoGP was hampered by his starting position. Mir admitted that he would not play it safe but also remained vigilant.

Currently the Suzuki rider tops the standings with 162 points, 37 points ahead of his closest rivals Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins in second and third. With two races remaining, Mir only needs to finish in the top three at Ricardo Tormo, Sunday (15/11) to win his first MotoGP title.

However, Mir’s job will be tougher as he will only start from 12th after 0.797 adrift of Franco Morbidelli in qualifying. Even so, Mir nevertheless proved that he could surprise himself despite getting a bad start.

In the Emilia Romagna series, for example, Mir started from position 11 to finish runner-up. Likewise in the Teruel series where Mir started from 12th before finishing on the second podium.

Joan Mir admitted that he was confused by the speed of his motorbike in qualifying. However, Mir will not race like crazy to secure the world title.

“I can’t say that this is a bad day,” Mir said GPOne. “I increased my pace and I’m excited about it, but I don’t know exactly what happened in qualifying.”

“On the bike, I didn’t feel any good sensation and I lacked traction, the rear was very slippery. I was not able to push and do a good spin. I know there are different track conditions but other riders can make a good time. that’s good.”

“This is not the first time where I start from behind, this is not my choice but it doesn’t mean the end of the world. The important thing is that I will attack and not race safely. My mentality is always giving my best, logically using my mind because I don’t want to do things. stupid, “Joan Mir said ahead of the Valencia MotoGP race.
