Jeremy Cameron Deal, Adam Treloar, Collingwood, GWS, Geelong, Jaidyn Stephenson, Ben Brown

The AFL world waits with bated breath as the futures of Jaidyn Stephenson, Jeremy Cameron and Adam Treloar remain in the air on the final day of the trading period.

But Ben Brown’s next move has reportedly been completed, moving from North Melbourne to Melbourne.

The Kangaroos forward has been a hugely successful goalscorer in recent years but has been called upon to find a new home after an injured 2020.

SEN’s Sam Edmund reports that the Demons and Roos reached an agreement on Thursday afternoon that North Melbourne would receive picks 26 and 33, plus a future pick for the fourth round.

Melbourne receives Pick 28 and its own future fourth all-rounder.

THE EAGLE HAS LANDED

Alex Witherden will move from Brisbane to the West Coast for two years.

The Lions will receive Pick 58 and a future third place finish while the Eagles will receive Witherden and Pick 86.

COLLINGWOODS $ 1.5 MILLION TRELOAR QUESTION

Treloar will be signed to Collingwood until the end of 2025, but due to his heavily backward contract, he will be shown the door to get the Pies’ salary cap back in shape.

The 27-year-old firmly believed he wanted to stay at the club and stick to his deal, but his relationship with the Magpies could be irreparably severed.

He’s got in touch with the Western Bulldogs, who are waiting for a doctor’s results before deciding whether to go into an official game.

SEN’s Sam Edmund reports Collingwood has to pay $ 300,000 from Treloars’ $ 900,000 a year because the dogs are only willing to spit $ 600,000 for the midfielder.

“Will the pies pay $ 1.5 million – $ 300,000 a year – to get Treloar out of the club over the next five years?” Asked Edmund.

Herald Sun. Reporter Jon Ralph told Trading day Treloar is “heartbroken” the way things went and it’s possible that he might actually endure one last uncomfortable season at Collingwood before being blown out of the stable.

“He just feels that if the Bulldogs withdraw their interest – and that the medicine hasn’t come through despite the meeting – he’ll have to stay at Collingwood – he just can’t see how he’ll be there. Given the way the club treated him, ”Ralph said.

“I think Collingwood just has to get him out. Let’s call it $ 250,000 on a $ 900,000-a-year contract. You need to use this cap area to stay in the window. “

The great Leigh Montagna of St. Kilda added, “Collingwood would look bad now if he actually returned to the club. There is no way Collingwood Football Club can try to save face when Adam Treloar walks back through the door. “

CAMERON SITUATION A ‘VOLCANO WAITING TO EXPLODE’

GWS and Geelong have been unable to agree on terms to deal with Cameron, who plans to move to Victoria next year. The giants initially agreed to the cats’ monster offer in a free agency, but so far the two parties have been unable to close a deal.

Geelong got three picks for the first round and the AFL legend became a media personality. Kane Cornes believes GWS wants all three when it comes to bringing the key forward.

“The asking price, and I think rightly for the Giants, are clearly those first three selection rounds that Geelong has,” Cornes told AFL Trade Radio.

“And right now not all three are on the table, I’m talking about (selection) 13, 15 and 20, but they have been pushed back and at night they’ll be pushed back.

“I just think these three tips are fair, and I think it’s a fair price to ask about Jeremy Cameron, a player Geelong pays $ 950,000 over six years.

“I feel like Geelong has to do this if Cameron threatens to go to the draft and maybe runs a risk that a North Melbourne play a piece for him in the draft.”

Commenting on Nine, Cornes added, “The fact that Geelong didn’t put pick 13 ahead of the Giants for Jeremy Cameron, who is the best striker in the game, is weird.

“When I’m the giants, I say, ‘What are you doing? This is a trading situation and you won’t even make your first pickup at the moment. ‘

“This is a deal … that will be done, but it was just an absolute waste of two teams trying to haggle over something that will eventually happen.”

Herald Sun. Reporter Jon Ralph told Fox Footy’s Trading day: “This is a volcano waiting to be blown up – this is Vesuvius.

“GWS says, ‘We have a salary, we have a choice before you – we just get it.’

“It’s such a risky strategy. I can’t see that Geelong doesn’t have to go without three top class ones in the end. “

STEPHENSON HAS NOT DECIDED

Stephenson was the 2018 Rising Star but has fallen out of favor with Collingwood after a disappointing 2020 and is being brought out as part of the club’s salary cap.

North Melbourne are reportedly just ready to offer the 21-year-old a choice for the second round Age, while the pies consider keeping it on their books unless they get a top notch for it.

The Kangaroos made a five-year $ 2.5 million offer to Stephenson, who would like to stay in black and white but is considering his options.

Edmund tweeted, “Flip a coin at Jaidyn Stephenson. The offer comes from North Melbourne, but it’s unclear whether Collingwood is ready to bring in a few dollars.

“Stephenson planned to sleep on it last night, but all indications are that this is going on the wire. Big decision. “

The trading period ends this evening at 7:30 p.m. AEDT.
