The quarterfinals of the Colombian championship will have a great game to rent a balcony: that of América de Cali against Atlético Nacional.
In a draw held this Monday night, the ballots played their role and matched two of the most historic clubs in local football in key C of the finals.
America will come to this instance after suffering two consecutive defeats, however, it is known that the finals are played at a different price.
Juan Cruz Real’s team, which will not have Rafael Carrascal due to expulsion, in principle, in the first leg, needs to polish enough details to revalidate the title obtained in 2019.
The first leg will be played next weekend at the Pascual Guerrero stadium, while the second leg will be played at the Atanasio Girardot in Medellín.
Will Guimaraes be measured?
One of the nuances that this quarter-final key will have, is that Atlético Nacional is very close to hiring as a new coach the Brazilian Alexandre Guimaraes, who coincidentally was champion with America in December of last year.
‘Guima’ left the red club in mid-2020 and would have his revenge in this key that looks exciting.
