Harry Winks comes clean after scoring from 53 yards in Tottenham’s loss to Ludogorets

Harry Winks has confessed that his 53-yard screamer was actually a pass that Tottenham’s teammate Gareth Bale was looking for.

The North Londoners won for the fifth time in a row when they beat Ludogorets 4-0.

Winks scored his third goal shortly after the hour with a diagonal hit that fell over the guests’ goalkeeper.

But the midfielder got clean and admitted he was trying to find the Welshman but has no problem scoring the goal.

He told BT Sport: “I would love to sit here and say I did it, but I have to be honest and say no. I saw Gaz (Gareth Bale) run in. I’ll take it off in the end . ” the day.

“It’s been a while (since I last scored) but I’m happy with the way the team played.”

“It was really fun. We started with the right intensity because we didn’t give them a chance to breathe. It was a good game for us.”

Winks has been battling for opportunities for the past few months after lowering the pecking order.

But as he pushes for more minutes, he realizes that he must seize the opportunities when they come.

“It’s tough. It’s very difficult,” he added. “When I get such opportunities, all I can do is play well.”

One man who took his chance was striker Carlos Vinicius, who scored a brace.

The Brazilian was a summer recruit from Benfica and will loan out the season in the capital.

His compatriot Lucas Moura rounded the goal in the 73rd minute to keep Tottenham on course for the knockout round.

Tanguy Ndombele was the only man from the weekend to keep his place on a vastly changed team, but Jose Mourinho was more than impressed with the representatives.

Carlos Vinicius and Lucas Moura were also on the points list

He said: “I’m happy for them, some players had really good performances. Japhet Tanganga had his first game after a long injury, a good chance for the kids to make history. 4-0 and three points, that’s good. “

“I know the kids well. Harvey White works with us on our roster every day, as does Jack Clrke, Dane Scarlett worked with us in the preseason.

“We know what you can do, but it has to be the right moment and today was the right pressure for you.”
