Handball – owls are allowed to stay – sport

Handball Bundesliga club Eulen Ludwigshafen is now allowed to host at least the December games in the local Friedrich-Ebert-Halle. The building and land committee of the city of Ludwigshafen decided on Monday, the association announced. Because the hall is to become a vaccination center to combat coronavirus, the owls were informed last week that they would not be able to play in their home arena for six months from December 1st. The vaccination center should now start work in the vestibules of the hall, the message said. “We are relieved that the three games against Füchse Berlin on December 12th, against Flensburg on December 19th and against MT Melsungen on December 26th,” said Eulen managing director Lisa Heßler. According to the current status, December will be played without spectators. For the period after the World Cup break in January, the city of Ludwigshafen wants to evaluate further alternatives and find solutions with the association.
